Portuguese (or Podagee) horse shoes were created years ago in Hawaii, out of the love for the original game of horse shoes. When a sand pit and stakes were not allowed, an old time favorite evolved. Large washers take the place of horseshoes, and a wooden box with a hole in the center (known as the cup) substitute for a horseshoe pit. Podagee horseshoes has been a long time family favorite at nearly any event in Hawaii.
This game is also known as "Washer Toss" outside of Hawaii.
Basic Rules:

Washer is hovering over the puka (hole) enough to see through: 2 points
